My fiancee bought this for me as an engagement ring. She's from Norway and guys wear engagement rings over there, and I wanted to respect her tradition as she's so respectful of ours here in the US.
We looked all over the place for a classy but understated ring, going to three different malls with numerous shops, Costco, and a number of jewelers but couldn't find a ring that was really the understated design I'd prefer. Many of them offered the style with cobalt, steel, etc. but were far overpriced, and others offered good prices on over shiny rings. Honestly, I just wanted a ring that was understated and cheap, haha. She wasn't as concerned about the price, but I didn't see the point as the love is what matters.
My fiancee was concerned about the ability to have the ring cut off in an emergency, so we did some research and it turns out that there is legit reasons to be concerned with some of the new metals, so we decided gold was best. Looking around at gold; however, and we found that prices were just crazy high.
Anyways, we decided to look on Amazon, and I was convinced we couldn't get "reputable" jewelry on the site as it was all from weird third party sellers. Once we found the Amazon collection, and this ring, we were sold. The beauty was that the rings in the stores usually had a 2-3 week waiting period for them to ship the ring, and this was shipped to us with two day shipping! I've now had it for four months and it is still a comfortable and classy ring. Well done Amazon!
